It was an early start to catch the sunrise at the Cape Byron lighthouse. This is the first place the sun graces the shore in Australia a spectacular sight worth getting out of bed for!
After we cooked pancakes down at Wategos beach and assessed the surf.
It was Gemma’s first time surfing and although the conditions weren’t ideal for learning she still bravely conquered some waves.
We enjoyed the sunset at the Pass in the afternoon.
After jamming on the beach and a few cock + bulls we headed out to town.
We witnessed an amazing band at the Great Northern Hotel that night.
The next morning ,we said farewell to our Swedish friends. They had an amazing time being a part of the experience and we were sure glad to meet them and share the experience, it was a sad goodbye. Enjoy your time in Australia swedes and hope to see you again!
During the next two weeks, We Travel Co will be making video’s for the YHA hostels of Australia and has now six travellers on board for a trip from Surfers Paradise to Cairns.
After our road trip from Sydney to Byron Bay, Sam, Camille, Roi and I arrived in Surfers Paradise where we met Alex, Yuki, Jonathan and Tobbe, four new travellers from England, Germany and Sweden joining the We Travel Co adventure for the next two weeks.
After a quick break in the hostel to put down our bags in the rooms, we all went to The Spit beach to take a surf lesson! (The first one for most of us!) After some recommendations from the instructors about how to paddle and get onto the board, we all hit the water to face the waves.
What a good experience! (And we all managed to stay in the board even for a few seconds!)
After that exhausting afternoon, we all met in a pub near the hostel where we had a beer, dinner, and tried our luck on the slot machine! Unfortunately, none of us won anything excepting Yuki who won 50 dollars!
After our first night in Surfers Paradise we woke up early to go see the sunrise on Surfers Paradise Beach. I think I will definitely never get bored of it!
After having a swim in the beach, we rent bikes in the hostel to go to the town where we walked in the street and the shops. You can’t imagine how peaceful it is to peddle along one of the most beautiful beaches!
Then we came back to the hostel where a BBQ on the balcony was organized: a nice way to meet other young travellers from all around the world!
After that greedy dinner, we came back to the town to visit the market and enjoy the Sin City by night; we spent the night in different nightclubs where the We Travel Co travellers invaded the dance floor!
After that short night, we left Surfers Paradise to Brisbane.
